Sport Climbing Trip to Urdviki

Join us for a multi-day sport climbing trip to Urdviki from Thursday June 4th to Sunday June 7th.

Please note that this trip is for climbers with previous outdoor climbing experience. A lead climbing certificate and experience with outdoor belaying are required.

About Urdviki
The main crag for this trip is Urdviki, which is within walking distance of Setesdal Motel, where we plan to stay. This makes it easy to climb there without driving every day.

Urdviki has routes in the 6b–7b+ range, enough for several days of climbing, as well as many harder routes. According to the available topos, there are around 19 routes graded 7b+ or lower and about 23 routes graded 7c and harder.

Travel plan
We meet on Thursday June 4th at 08:00 am at Athletica Blindern and drive together to Urdviki. The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours.

We will stay until Sunday June 7th and drive back to Oslo together in the early afternoon.

Equipment
OSI Klatring can provide equipment if necessary. However, please bring your own climbing gear if you have it, so that we can open the trip to as many participants as possible.

To join the trip we require that you:

• Have a lead climbing certificate / belayer’s certificate and know how to belay outdoors.
• Have previous outdoor climbing experience.
• Understand that outdoor climbing is an inherently risky activity and that you participate at your own responsibility.
• Be aware that we do not provide instructors on this trip.
• Contribute to the social environment and to common tasks, such as cooking and doing the dishes.

Price
The price range is an estimate (subject to change depending on the need for rental cars etc.) and includes accommodation, transportation, and three common dinners. 

• 1200 - 1500 NOK for members
• 600 - 750 NOK for members who provide a car for the trip

Please bring your own breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Registration
The registration form opens on May 8th at 10:00 am (registrations submitted before then won't be considered). Sign-up is first come, first served (based on experience).

You will be informed shortly after registration whether you got a spot on the trip. Please check your spam folder. If you do not receive an email, you will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

We will ask you to confirm your spot and pay for the trip before May 15th. If you do not confirm and pay by then, your spot will automatically go to the next person on the waiting list.
